Aysel Mekhdy (b.1988) is an Azerbaijani artist who works and creates in Moscow, Russia. Her B.A. in Painting with major in Theatre Decorations was received from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. Subsequent to that she received Master’s Degree in Design with major in Graphic Design from Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. In 2016 she enrolled to Pre –foundation Art & Design at British Higher School Arts & Design.
Aysel has participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Russia and Azerbaijan. She has received certificate from the chairman of Azerbaijan Club at Moscow State Institute of International Relations for her valuable contribution to the charity exhibition. One of her paintings won second place in the competition organized by Azerbaijan State Oil Company.
The unique street art project that Aysel did on the walls of an architectural building in Baku, Azerbaijan positively resonated with many local citizens and received a mention on the pages of the popular local magazine. Aysel uses art as medium for discussing social problems and sharing emotional experiences. While creating her works, she prefers to work with different media that includes plaster and ceramics.
Aysel’s work can be found in private art collections in Azerbaijan, Russian and United Kingdom.
